Another creation of the multi-talented Cardinale family! This arm of the family business is really three stores in one, or is it one store in three?? I'm not quite sure! It's three stores in one because it is a fine furniture store, a gift shop, and a home accessories resource for things like rugs and the greatest collection of prints and paintings I have seen anywhere. It's one store in three as it extends itself from Chaps' Corner, the men's clothing shop, through Renee's, the woman's clothing shop, and then reaches over to the final and newest location "Renee's Furniture." All members are extremely talented and experienced, melding together when necessary and feeding off each other's energy when the song calls for it, as only a long-standing band of friends can. As I flipped through the pages, I could almost hear the giggle of the children photographed. The bridal couples looked so in love and so very happy, I wish I could have been at all their weddings! Dawn works in color and black and white and will do portraits and on site photography.

There's something soft and lovely about Sherry Pickerell's photography. It's rather like the area she lives, the North Fork of Long Island. To be sure, there are moments of flash and sudden beauty, but there is also that centered sense that comes with an intrinsic gentleness. Throughout the past twenty one years, Mr. Heller has been asked to ply his trade for the New York City Police Department and for various publications of Fire Departments. These assignments have led him to create photo journalism pieces in areas across the country: Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Indianapolis 500 and Spring break in Panama City, Florida. As I do with all persons listing their services on the site, I arranged to meet Michael Molinoff. We met in a coffee shop in Mattituck on a rainy morning and he graciously ran out in the bad weather to get some photographs for me to look over. I thought they were incredible and I asked him about his other work. Only with prodding did he eventually tell me some of the people he has photographed: Paul Newman, Sex in The City's Kyle McLaughlin, Mayor Bloomberg, Stacy Rukeyser, and Dr. Ruth! Any major events? How about The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp's Annual Polo for Children at Greenwich Polo Club. Weddings? I don't know the brides, but I would wish I did. They all look so gloriously beautiful and happy! When I came home I took a look at his website. This made me late for my next appointment, but I couldn't stop. The children were captivating and I could hear their laughter and peek into what their parents must see when they tuck them into bed. Krista Sildver has an eye for the moment. When viewing her portfolio, I was particularly struck by the sensitive shots of the groom!! Indeed, it is it is "the bride's day" but surely the groom is more than a prop!! One photo was of the groom's hands as he held the wedding ring in front of his tuxedo clad chest. Another caught the look in his eyes as he heard his bride declare her vows. Krista's exquisite attention to detail captured the essence of this most important event: the joining of two people in matrimony. But don't think the photos weren't fun too! You could hear the laughter!! Krista explained to me that most couples today want a photo journalistic approach, but that the traditional formal shots also remain treasured. She can do it all and does so with a high degree of professionalism and caring. Shots of the bride, alone, with her new husband, and with members of her family were lovely and touching. It was clear to me that not only does she take pride in her work, but that she also loves it! She doesn't view a booking as a job, but rather a collaborative effort to immortalize the day. Brides, grooms, and parents of the happy couple will delight for years to come in the beautiful photographs she takes. One final note: When you book Krista, you get Krista. There is no "second string." I have heard tales of a bride booking a photographer and then having the studio send someone else to the event. You don't want surprise substitutions and this won't happen with Krista.

Ted Gamble is the owner and videographer for VideoImage Productions. Although I had heard of his work, I only met him recently when he invited me to see him record a wedding. He is such a gentleman. Mr. Gamble recognizes that the bride wants the wedding videos for the future; not the videographer as the most visible wedding guest! There are no flashes, no flood lights, and no tripods, as all work is performed using digital TV quality cameras. When we bought the property in Southold for our future home, my husband was in law school in Baltimore, Maryland and I was teaching there. On my classroom's bulletin board there was a plastic bag containing earth, twigs, and pebbles from our lot. I looked at it each day to remind myself that soon we would once again be living on the beautiful North Fork.
